Raul Casillas

Independent artist with an international portfolio in digital art and game design.
Multimedia artist, 2D/3D designer, pixel art artist. Do art every day.
My name is Raul Casillas and this is my story
I was a kid growing up in an ordinary backyard, with a pencil in one hand and an endless desire to create in the other.
Ever since I was a child, I felt a passion for art igniting inside me: I drew on desks, on old wallpaper, and on the sand under my feet.
Where others saw a peeling gray background, I created my first worlds, scraps of notebooks turned into sketches, and every drop of paint on the table seemed like a revelation.
But often my work seemed to me unsuccessful, and the people around me did not understand me, they said: “what's all this for”, “choose something more serious”, “become normal”.
But something else whispered inside: without art I would have no self and no life.
When the world went quiet behind closed windows in 2020, I saw an opportunity. Once again I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil, finding in the classical lines the freedom that was missing.
The computer screen became a portal to a new world:
Photoshop gave me a palette without edges, Cinema 4D and Blender turned simple shapes into living sculptures, and Redshift filled them with light and texture. Each new program is like an open door to an uncharted house where dreams took on real contours.
The first months turned into a testing streak: an overloaded interface, endless rendering glitches, and hundreds of hours of the “wrong” project.
But my motto resounded in my heart:
“My life is art” It warmed me up better than any coffee and encouraged me to try new things.
The thought “Make art every day” kept me going.
When the email from Binance NFT came in 2021 with an invitation to closed verification of artists, my heart pounded as if for the first time and the world had said: “We hear you.”
After the first collections sold, everything seemed unbelievable: my work was among the first in their gallery.
The sales volume exceeded a million dollars, and more than 15 unique collections found their owners.
The turning point was the transition to pixel art. A small grid of dots turned into a musical score, where each note is a part of my soul.
In the fall of 2023, I began collaborating with Opensea and hosting them at Drops, which completely turned my life around and strengthened my connection to the global community of collectors.
The turning point was the shift to pixel art. A small grid of dots turned into a musical score where every note is a part of my soul.
Now Every new dawn begins with the question, “What will I create today?”
Looking back at everything that has passed, I realize: obstacles only hardened me, and mistakes taught me to look for my own solutions. Now there is only one thing left to do - to inspire those who are at the start and to remind every artist: dedication and daily practice work wonders.
In the evening, instead of dreams, ideas and images flicker, and in between them my motto resounds:
“My life is art and NFT.”
